On Tuesday the 23rd of May Class 4 Daisy, Ben, Isabella, Mia, Isacc, Maisie, and Grace joined Mrs Marsh at Grange Primary School for a session to learn and play 3 Ts Cricket. Grange, Crays Hill and Abacus schools also attended.

After a quick warm up the children learnt some of the skills needed for 3 Ts Cricket. They participated in a variety of activities to improve retrieving, throwing, catching and bating. Finally they played a game with children from Crays Hill which we won. Ben scored two sixes and a two by accurately hitting the ball. Our total score was 111.

Thank you to all the parents who transported the children there and to Isabella’s Mum for washing our brand new kit.P1060307P1060311P1060312P1060313P1060314P1060315P1060316P1060317P1060320P1060321P1060323P1060325P1060326

High Flyers

Mrs Mead and Miss Field have been running dance club. They hoped to enter the High Flyers show but there was a bit of a mix up with the dates and so instead we had our own show featuring the dance and the choir. Mrs Walter runs choir and today they sung beautifully.

Thank you to the adults who give up their time so that these clubs can run.

Essex Summer Games

On Thursday the 30th of June Isabelle, Holly, Anna, Archie, Daisy and Lily- May represented our school at the Essex Primary Key Steps Gymnastics KS1 event which was part of the Summer Games organised by the Active Essex team. We were invited to represent the William De Ferrers Partnership because we had won their competition.

After an opening ceremony with schools all across Essex who were participating in a variety of events we went into the gymnasium. The children once again had to perform two vaults independently and then worked together to present a short synchronised gymnastic routine including set elements. They were amazing! The judges scrutinised every part of the performance, awarding them a score of 91.7 which means Hilltop Infant school came 10th. Archie received the highest points in the whole competition for his vault. This is the first time our school has got through to this level and we are very proud of them. They will perform their routine at Sports Day.

Thank you once again to the parents who transported their children to this event and stayed to support us.
